Andy Ruiz Takes on Joseph Parker in New Zealand

Andy Ruiz looks to make history becoming the first Mexican Heavyweight champion by taking on undefeated Joseph Parker in Auckland on December 10 for the vacant WBO heavyweight title.
Upon his arrival Ruiz was greeted with a Māori welcome at the airport.

“Every culture and every country has their own thing; I appreciated what they were doing and I enjoyed it.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I’ve been training my ass off for this fight.
Me and Joseph Parker are going to give out a good fight, there are going to be a lot of fireworks on December 10. I’m ready to rock and roll.”

Ruiz trained with Abel Sanchez who worked with Andy at high altitude in Big Bear, California.  Sanchez is set to arrive into Auckland on Wednesday due to a commitment with Murat Gassiev in Moscow.
Ruiz isn’t affected by his trainers late arrival as he was aware of the schedule and continues to train through fight week.

“I know we are both prepped for 12 rounds.  I don’t talk a lot of trash or anything.  But when the bell rings we both flip the switch.
I have a family to feed and I fight for them.”
