Top-rated pound-for-pound fighters and Olympic legends Vasiliy “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko and Guillermo “El Chacal” Rigondeaux battled in the Big Apple Saturday, December 9th, at the The Theater at Madison Square Garden. This historic battle was the first time two-time Olympic gold medalists had fought each other professionally at the highest level. Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs), of Ukraine, successfully defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior lightweight world title against the reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight champion and Cuban native Rigondeaux (17-1, 11 KOs).
