Bravo Arrives in Puerto RIco to Face Verdejo

CAGUAS, PR – Chile’s rugged fighter Oscar "La Maquina" Bravo arrived late last night in "The Island of Enchantment," where Saturday, August 16, he assured he will do everything possible to defeat sensational Puerto Rican prospect Felix "El Diamante" Verdejo when they collide at the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum.

"I like to fight. It will be a good show to everyone that enjoys boxing. You will see a war," said Bravo. "I’m going to throw a lot of punches; I’m going to bring the fight to him.”

Bravo (21-5, 9 KO’s), who has never been knocked out and has gone the distance in three 12-round fights in his career, guaranteed he will leave everything in the ring and that he will be the toughest test for the young Puerto Rican prospect to date.

At the same time, Bravo recognizes the quality of his opponent and knows he can’t be overconfident and has to be very careful during the fight.

“I know that he (Verdejo) is a very good boxer. I can’t drop my hands. I have to keep my guard up. A wrong move can cost me the fight, and I could end up being knocked out,” said Bravo.

On the program, which will be broadcasted as part of UniMas’s "Solo Boxeo Tecate" series, unbeaten super bantamweight prospect José "Wonder Boy" López (13-0, 10 KO’s) will defend his FECARBOX regional title against Mexico’s Roberto "Azabache" Castañeda.

The card will also include six more bouts where Jose "Chiquiro" Martinez, Rashidi Ellis, Christopher "Pitufo" Diaz, Alberto Machado, Yomar Alamado and Freddy Ortiz will risk their undefeated records.

“FUTURE STARS” is presented by Cotto Promotions, in association with Top Rank and H2 Entertainment, and will be televised live at 11pm ET/PT on UniMas.

Tickets range from $50 (Red Carpet) to $20 (Ring Side) to $12 (General Entrance), and are available on Ticket Center or by calling (787) 792-5000 or visiting
