Jessie Vargas Media Day Sept. 4th

LAS VEGAS, NEV. (August 31, 2012) -- Undefeated world-ranked welterweight Jessie Vargas and manager Cameron Dunkin will be at Jessie's Media Day on Tuesday, Sept 4 at 1:00 PM at the TOP RANK GYM (3041 Business Lane, Las Vegas, 89103) to discuss his Thursday, September 13 fight against East L.A.'s Aron Martinez in The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas.

Vargas (19-0, 9KOs), a Las Vegas resident, puts on his unbeaten record on the line against Martinez (18-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight bout. Vargas is ranked WBA #9, WBO #10. He has wins over former world champion Steve Forbes and Josesito Lopez, who recently defeated Victor Ortiz.

"I've felt a lot stronger - much more powerful - since I moved up to the welterweight division," said Vargas, 23, who is trained by Robert Alcazar.

In the co-feature, unbeaten Casey Ramos,16-0, of Austin, Texas will take on Luis Cruz, 19-1, of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico in a super featherweight bout.  Also, lightweight Terence Crawford, 17-0, of Omaha will face Hardy Paredes, 15-10, of Chile. Big punching heavyweight Andy Ruiz, 15-0, of Mexicali, takes on Maurenzo Smith, 10-2-2, of Houston.  Mikael Zewski, 15-0, of Canada will box on this card, as will hard-hitting Rudy Puga, 3-0, of Salinas, California. Puga will take on Eddie Cordova, 3-3-1, of Utah.
