Marquez & Dapudong Meet One Last Time

The local mall “Plaza Bicentenario” in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico hosted a promotional event for the upcoming world championship fight between Hernan “Tyson” Marquez, of nearby Empalme, Sonora, and Edrin Dapudong of the Philippines. Both fighters took pictures and signed autographs for hundred of fans.

Marquez will defend his WBA Flyweight championship for the first time against Dapudong this Saturday at the Multi Use Center in Hermosillo in the main event on a “Top Rank Live” show, which will be televised by Fox Deportes in the United States.

“It’s always very special to meet the fans and spend some time with them. I am looking forward to Saturday night and defending my championship in front of all my fans here at home,” said Marquez (30-2-0, 23 KOs)

Dapudong made the long trip from the Philippines with only one thing on his mind: taking home the championship.

“I took this fight because I know Marquez very well. His style is perfect for me, plus I am taller and stronger then him. I believe I will knock him out and will send all the fans home very sad on Saturday night,” said Dapudong.
