Stakes Is High: Antillon vs. Rios

In this corner... Urbano Antillon (27-1, 20 KOs), of Maywood, California, a knock-out artist coming off a third round TKO win over Luis Arceo earlier this year. That win marked an important turn in Antillon's career: In 2009, he suffered a heart-breaking 9th round stoppage in a title bout against Miguel Acosta. That was Antillon's first shot at a belt and, luckily for him, it won't be his last....

In this corner... Brandon Rios (24-0-1, 17 KOs), of Lubbock, Texas, a hungry young fighter coming off an impressive third round TKO of Jorge Luis Teron in February. That win landed Rios the NABF lightweight title, which he'll defend against Antillon on May 8, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, as part of the 14th edition of Top Rank's Latin Fury championship series featuring the return of Antonio Margarito.

For both of these fighters, the stakes couldn't be higher. Antillon has been given a rare gift: a second chance at a championship. He knows he must take advantage of the opportunity. Rios, on the other hand, has his sights set on bigger and better things. But first he must get past Antillon, perhaps his most difficult challenge to date.

It's a virtual guarantee that this will be an action fight, not only because Antillon and Rios are highly motivated, but also because each has an aggressive, come-forward style that should make for a blow-for-blow type bout.
