Arce, Soto, Chavez in All-action Card

This Saturday, three-time world champions JORGE ARCE and HUMBERTO SOTO join undefeated prospect OMAR CHAVEZ on a triple-header card in Culiacan, Sinoloa, Mexico during the Bicentennial Celebration of Mexican Independence Day. The big show will be held at Dorado Soccer Stadium and will be televised by Fox Sport Espanol as part of the “Top Rank Live” series.

Arce (55-6-1, 42 KOs), of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, will take on former world champion Lorenzo “Lencho” Parra (31-2, 18 KOs), of Venezuela, in a 12 round WBO jr. featherweight elimination bout; the winner will become the mandatory challenger to young Puerto Rican champion Wilfredo Vázquez Jr.

“I know how good Parra is. [I] will have to be at my best to beat him. As always I will give the fans as good a fight as I can,” said Arce.

Soto (52-7-2, 32 KOs), of Los Mochis Sinola, will defend his WBC Lightweight title against Fidel Monterrosa (23-1, 18 KOs), of Colombia, in a 12 round championship fight.

“I look forward to fighting in Culiacan and will give them the best fight possible,” said Soto.

Chávez Carrasco (23-0-1, 16 KO’s), of Culiacan, Sinaloa, will have a rematch with Rodrigo Juarez (15-11-1, 11 Ko’s) of Tijuana. They met a couple of months back; Chavez got the nod in a very close fight.

“I know the first fight was a war and it was close,” said Chavez, who training in the Mountains of Mexico for this eight round clash. “But this time there will be no doubt about the winner.”
