Concepcion: “I Doubt That This Fight Will Go the Distance”

Today in Puerto Rico, world-ranked fighter BERNABE CONCEPCION held a media workout at the Wilfredo Gomez Arena in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, before returning to the Philippines to prepare for his challenge against the WBO featherweight champion, Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez, on July 10 in Puerto Rico.  

Yesterday, Concepcion — who is mananged by MANNY PACQUIAO and was accompanied by advisor Michael Koncz to Puerto Rico — took part in a press conference with Lopez. They officialy announced their fight, dubbed “The Challenge,” which will be televised live by Showtime from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, Jose Miguel Agrelot.  

“I know I will need speed and movement to beat Lopez, but I am not afraid to trade punches with him,” said Concepcion, who has fought 10 of his las 11 fights outside his native country, having fought eight times in the US and two in Mexico. Adding, “I am not concerned to be fighting Lopez in Puerto Rico and him getting a hometown decision, because I doubt that this fight will go the distance because of our great power.”

Concepcion and Koncz will return to the Philippines on Friday, and Concepcion will fly to the United States on May 28 to finalized his training at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California under astute head trainer Buboy Fernandez and supervising trainer Freddie Roach  the training.
