Mike Lee to Fight in 1st Pro Boxing Match at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME BOXING CHAMPION MIKE LEE HOSTS SOUTH BEND AND CHICAGO

PRESS CONFERENCES

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2ND

CHICAGO, IL (August 1, 2011) Former Notre Dame Boxing Champion and current undefeated professional boxer Mike Lee will host Press Conferences in South Bend, Indiana and Chicago this Tuesday, August 2nd, to announce “Fight Like a Champion,” the first ever professional boxing event held at the University of Notre Dame on Friday, September 16th benefitting a pair of Notre Dame Charities.

At the Notre Dame/South Bend press conference, starting at 10am in the Naimoli Club at the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center, legendary former Notre Dame Football Coach Ara Parseghian will join Lee.

The Chicago press conference, held at Harry Caray’s Downtown will commence with a 1pm media lunch followed by a 1:30pm start.  Harry Caray’s is located at 33 W. Kinzie, corner of Kinzie and Dearborn.

At both stops, Lee will be joined by his trainer, the renowned Ronnie Shields and Carl Moretti, Vice President at Top Rank Incorporated.

All profits from this special evening of professional boxing held at the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center (basketball arena) will be donated to two charities associated with Notre Dame — the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation and the Robinson Community Learning Center in South Bend.

Presented by Top Rank Incorporated and The Mike Lee Foundation, “Fight Like a Champion” will be held the night before the Fighting Irish Football Team battles the Michigan State Spartans at Notre Dame Stadium.

The 24-year-old Lee, a native of Wheaton, Ill., graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2009, earning a finance degree from the Mendoza School of Business while finishing at the top of his class.

While at Notre Dame, Lee was a three-time Bengal Bouts school boxing champion and also won the Chicago Golden Gloves in 2009.

Since turning professional in May 2010, Lee has thrilled sports fans across the country with his power and stunning knockouts, battling to a record of 6-0-0 with four knockouts while performing in front of huge crowds of alums and friends of Notre Dame.
