Pacquiao to Hand Out Free Turkeys Nov. 18

 LOS ANGELES (November 16, 2012) – Fighter of the DecadeCongressman MANNY “Pacman” PACQUIAO purchased a truckload of turkeys and pumpkin pies today. He and his team of Pinoy Pilgrims will be handing them out This Sunday! to fans preparing for Thanksgiving.

Pacquiao will begin the turkey and pumpkin pie giveaway at 1:00 p.m. PT, following Sunday services (which begin at 11:00 a.m. PT) at theWestside Shepherd of the Hills Church, located in the Wadsworth Theatre on the grounds of the Veterans Administration in Brentwood (11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, Calif. 90073.)  Fans are asked to line up at a designated roped off area in front of the church, beginning atNoon PT.  Each fan will be given a wristband that can be exchanged for one (1) turkey and one (1) pumpkin pie while turkeys and pies last.   Pacquiao will also donate turkeys and pies to the VA Commissary for its Thanksgiving dinners.  Ample parking for fans will be available.

“Thanksgiving is a wonderful American holiday for families to get together and celebrate God’s blessings. I chose Westside Shepherd of the Hills to do this because a house of God, where I attend services, seemed an appropriate place to share my blessings,” said Pacquiao.  “I am very thankful for the many friends I have made here in this great country.  “I can’t think of a better way to express my appreciation to my American-based fans, who have embraced me, than by sharing my good fortune with them.”

Pacquiao, who is in deep training for Act Four of his exciting and fistoric rivalry with Juan Manuel Márquez, will not have Thanksgiving off.  Trainer Freddie Roach has planned on stuffing 10 rounds of sparring into the holiday before fighter and trainer join family and friends to celebrate.

Pacquiao and Márquez, who have won world titles in 12 weight divisions between them, will go mano a mano and toe-to-toe in a high-stakes welterweight showdown, Saturday, December 8, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
