Crawford & Jean to Host Fight Announcement in Omaha
OMAHA, NEB. (August 20, 2015) — Undefeated two-division world champion and the reigning Fighter of the Year, TERENCE “BUD” CRAWFORD,Omaha’s favorite son, and one-time world title challenger and current No. 2 world-rated contender, DIERRY “Dougy Style” JEAN, will host a news conference announcing their World Junior Welterweight Championship fightThis Monday! August 24, at the CENTURYLINK CENTER in the Bud Light Zone (455 North 10th St., Omaha, Neb. 68102). The news conference, which will be open to the public, will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT, with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. CT. Joining Crawford and Jean will be Todd duBoef,president of Top Rank. The press conference will be streamed live, beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET / 11:00 a.m. PT, via WWW.TOPRANK.TV.
Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) will be making the first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight title. It will be the third time Omaha has hosted a world title fight for its hometown hero Crawford. Jean (29-1, 20 KOs), from Montréal, Québec, Canada, returns to the ring riding a four-bout winning streak, three of those victories coming by way of knockout, since losing a 12-round decision to world champion Lamont Peterson last year.
Promoted by Top Rank®, in association with Tecate, the Crawford vs. Jean World Junior Welterweight Championship fight will take place Saturday, October 24, at the CenturyLink Center. The championship event will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing®, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
All the participants will be available for one-on-one interviews. Media may park in Parking Lot A and enter through the Security/Media Entrance.
