Jose Ramirez to Kickoff Responsible Athletes Program

Avenal, Calif. – USA Olympian and undefeated professional boxerJOSE RAMIREZ (13-0, 10 KO’s) will return home to Avenal, Ca this Saturday March 21st to team up with RAP (Responsible Athletes Program)  to give back to his community and stress the importance of the program he once was in. Ramirez will give a motivational speech and coach an all-star team this night as well as help make a few lucky winners dream come true and take them out to eat and buy them the equipment  they need in their related sports.

“RAP keeps kids in school, out of gangs and provides guidance for the entire area for anyone that needs it, I am honored to be involved and help out with this amazing program” said Ramirez

There is over 1000 people expected to attend and in typical Ramirez fashion he will provide each and every person from his home town a FREE ticket to his NABF title bout “Fight For Water 4,” Saturday, May 9 at the Selland Arena. The card will be televised nationally at 11p ET/PT on TOP RANK’S “SOLO BOXEO TECATE” on UniMas.

Ramirez last fought Oct 25th in his hometown, where a record-setting 10,000 people watched him capture his first title.

For the first time Responsible Athletes Program will have a special guest, former US Olympian Jose Ramirez. The All-Star showcase will consists of three different age groups; Juniors, Seniors and Adults. Upon entrance, all RAP youth basketball participants will be entered in a raffle drawing for a chance to win lunch with Ramirez and a shopping spree for sports equipment of his/her choice. During halftime Team Ramirez will take on the Junior All-Stars in a scrimmage. This is a free admission event and the first 1,000 guests will receive a free voucher ticket for Jose Ramirez’s upcoming ‘Fight for Water 4’ on May 9 at the Selland Arena in Fresno, Ca.
